You're aging because you move less and less.

Many people say around the age of forty or fifty:
“Everything used to be easier.”
They used to squat down more easily.
They used to get up more easily.
Their lower back didn't hurt after a long car ride.
Their shoulders didn't crack every morning.
And at times like these, many people think:
“This is aging.”
But in many cases, it's not.
Your body is incredibly adaptable.
It adapts to what you do day in and day out.
If you sit a lot…
it adapts to sitting.
If you don't raise your arms through their full range of motion…
it will become increasingly difficult.
If you don't use your muscles…
they slowly deteriorate.
Not overnight.
Imperceptibly.
The good news?
It's just as capable of adapting in a positive direction.
In every Pilates class, we send a message to your body:
“We will still need this.”
Strength.
Balance.
Mobility.
Stability.
And your body responds.
We don't work out to look twenty years old.
But so that at sixty, you can still easily get up from the floor.
So that at seventy, you can still go hiking.
So that at eighty, you can still pick up your grandchild.
This is true longevity.
Not just a longer life.
But a better life.
