What is preventive spinal training about?

PREVENTIVE SPINAL TRAINING

Preventive spinal training mainly involves developing, strengthening and stretching the muscles of the trunk, but exercises often performed with different equipment (fitball, softball, roller, dyner pad, etc.) train the whole body. A spinal workout can include more dynamic exercises with a pulse rate increase, as well as stabilisation or static exercises and stretching.

The primary focus of the class is on working the deep muscles of the back, which receive less attention in a traditional aerobic, functional or other workout. Spinal training sculpts the figure, improves muscle tone, and works the muscles of the back, abdomen, hips, shoulders, arms and legs.

It is a safe and effective form of exercise which, when done regularly, can prevent the onset of back problems and can also relieve existing back problems. It leads to improved body awareness, increased strength, better posture and improved well-being.

I look forward to welcoming you to my individual and group classes at UP Pilates Studio!
