On 8 March we give flowers to women.
A nice gesture. A kind thoughtfulness.
But there is something we talk about less often.
Women's Day can actually be a reminder.
A reminder of how important the quality of woman is in the world.
The care.
Attention.
Patience.
The sensitivity.
The special ability to notice the other.
These are the values that keep families together, build communities and make the world a more human place.
And yet there is a strange phenomenon.
Many women take care of everyone else...
but not about yourself.
Self-care is not a luxury
Many people feel that taking time for themselves is selfish.
But the opposite is true.
Self-care is not a luxury.
Not a reward.
And it's not selfish.
Self-care basic condition.
Because if you are exhausted,
if your back hurts,
if you are under constant stress,
you will eventually run out of energy to give to others.
And then you don't have more patience - you have less.
Not more attention - but tension.
So self-care is not about choosing yourself over others.
It's about you retain the strength to give to others.
When a woman is well in her body
One of the most beautiful things I see in my work is the change when a woman starts to reconnect with her body.
When he realises that the movement is not a punishment.
Not "must".
It's a gift.
An hour when you finally listen to yourself.
For your breath.
His movements.
On his own body.
And that's when something interesting happens.
Not only will it be stronger.
It's calmer.
More focused.
More serene.
And that energy radiates out to everything.
To the family.
To work.
On relationships.
For life.
Female strength is not about survival
The modern world often expects women to be able to do everything.
Get to work.
Organise.
Take care of.
Solve everything.
But female strength is not about continued survival.
Female strength is more about about connectivity about.
Connecting with ourselves.
To our bodies.
To our feelings.
And to each other.
When that connection is made, that's when the real power comes.
A little Women's Day reminder
On Women's Day, it's not just flowers you should give.
But also a reminder.
How:
- your body is important
- rest is important
- movement is important
- the time you take for yourself is important
Because when a woman is well in her body and in her life, she the world around it will be a better place.
And perhaps that is the real message of Women's Day.
🌿 Happy Women's Day to all women.
And if you do just one thing for yourself today, whether it's a walk, a deep breath or a bit of exercise.
Your body - and your life - will thank you for it.
